Job Description

Look no further, because the City of Portland-Oregon is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Recreation Employees for our SUN Community Schools program. As a Recreation Employee, you will have the opportunity to engage with students and families, plan and lead recreational activities, and contribute to the overall success of our community.   • Plan and lead recreational activities for students and families in the SUN Community Schools program
  • Create a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
  • Engage with students and families to build positive relationships and promote a sense of community
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement program goals and objectives
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain accurate records of program attendance and participant information
  • Ensure all program equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community members
  • Uphold and enforce program policies and procedures to ensure a safe and positive environment
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the program and contribute new ideas
  • Serve as a positive role model for students and uphold the values of the City of Portland-Oregon
  • Support and assist in other program areas and events as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Education, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working In A Community-Based Recreation Program.

  • Experience Coordinating And Leading Recreation Programs For Diverse Populations, Including Children, Adults, And Seniors.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Community Partners And Stakeholders.

  • Knowledge Of Community Resources And Ability To Develop And Maintain Partnerships To Support Program Goals And Objectives.
