- Develop and implement inclusive recreational programs and activities for individuals with disabilities, ensuring that they are accessible and meet the diverse needs and abilities of participants.
- Collaborate with community organizations and partners to promote and expand inclusive recreation opportunities in the community.
- Plan and coordinate staff training and development opportunities to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of staff to ensure a diverse and inclusive team.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for individuals with disabilities, providing support and guidance to program participants and their families.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community members and stakeholders, promoting the inclusive recreation programs and services offered by the City.
- Monitor program budget and expenditures, ensuring responsible use of resources to maintain and expand inclusive recreation offerings.
- Collaborate with other departments and city agencies to ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all city-sponsored events and activities.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements to meet the needs of participants.
- Uphold the City's values of inclusivity, diversity, and equity in all aspects of the job, promoting a welcoming and accessible community for all.
Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Therapeutic Recreation, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Individuals With Disabilities In A Recreation Setting.
Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs) Or Willingness To Obtain Within 6 Months Of Hire.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Adaptive And Inclusive Recreation Practices And Techniques.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Diverse Groups And Individuals.
