Job Description

The City of Portland, Oregon is looking for a highly qualified, motivated, and experienced Public Safety Technology Division Manager to lead our team in the development and implementation of innovative technology solutions that support the safety of our community.We seek a leader with strong experience in technology and public safety, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to excellence. The successful candidate must have the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including public safety personnel, elected officials, and the general public.The Public Safety Technology Division Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the City's public safety technology systems. They will also be responsible for ensuring public safety personnel are trained and equipped to use the technology effectively, and for ensuring that systems are integrated and utilized in the most effective and efficient manner. The Division Manager will be an integral part of the City’s public safety team, and will be expected to create an environment that promotes collaboration and innovation.The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of experience in management of public safety technology systems. They must have the ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds and possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. The ability to create and manage a budget and to effectively communicate with stakeholders is also a must.
