Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Police Records Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and organization of official police records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.   1. Maintain and organize official police records in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all records, including documentation of all relevant information and updates.
  3. Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with department protocols.
  4. Utilize various software and databases to input and retrieve information as needed.
  5. Respond to requests for records from authorized personnel and the general public in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Assist with the preparation of reports and statistical data for internal and external use.
  7. Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  8. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to obtain and share information as needed.
  9. Attend trainings and stay current on laws, regulations, and procedures related to record keeping and confidentiality.
  10. Provide support to other members of the team and assist with special projects as assigned.
  11. Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with colleagues and the public.
  12. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  13. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures related to record keeping.
  14. Keep abreast of new technology and trends in record keeping and implement improvements as needed.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of the City of Portland, promoting a safe and thriving community for all residents.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Police Records Specialist At The City Of Portland-Oregon Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.

  • Experience With Records Management Systems: Candidates For This Position Should Have Experience With Records Management Systems And Be Proficient In Data Entry And Retrieval.
