
Immigrant & Refugee Coordinator
The City of Portland is looking for an experienced Immigrant & Refugee Coordinator to join our team. Our ideal candidate is passionate about working with and serving our immigrant and refugee communities, and has a commitment to social justice. This role requires a combination of critical thinking, project and program management, and community engagement skills.The Immigrant & Refugee Coordinator will work to create an equitable and welcoming environment for Portland’s immigrant and refugee communities, and support them through our services and programs. The successful candidate will be an advocate for our immigrant and refugee communities and will be responsible for developing and implementing programming, initiatives, and policy that will promote their success and well-being.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or related field, or equivalent experience• At least two years of experience working with immigrant and refugee communities• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing program and policy initiatives• Knowledge of public policy and the political process• Knowledge of the history, culture and language of Portland’s immigrant and refugee communities• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders• Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a high level of flexibility and creativity• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentThis is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about social justice and committed to creating a more equitable, inclusive, and welcoming environment for our immigrant and refugee communities.
