- Collaborate with various stakeholders including community members, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to identify and address housing needs and challenges.
- Stay up-to-date on local and national housing trends, policies, and best practices to inform decision-making and policy development.
- Lead and manage a team of housing policy and planning professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Conduct research and data analysis to inform policy recommendations and decisions.
- Advocate for the needs of marginalized and vulnerable communities in housing policy and planning processes.
- Ensure that all policies and plans are aligned with the city's goals and values of social justice and inclusivity.
- Collaborate with other city departments to integrate housing policies and plans into broader city initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets and contracts related to housing policy and planning projects.
- Represent the city at public meetings, conferences, and other events to communicate housing policies and plans and gather community feedback.
- Facilitate community engagement and participation in housing policy and planning processes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of housing policies and plans, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Foster partnerships and collaborations with external organizations and agencies to leverage resources and expertise in addressing housing issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies in the development and implementation of housing policies and plans.
- Communicate and collaborate with city leadership and elected officials on housing policy and planning initiatives and strategies.
Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Public Policy, Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Housing Policy And Planning, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting
Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Housing Laws And Regulations
Experience In Developing And Implementing Affordable Housing Strategies And Programs
Strong Communication And Stakeholder Engagement Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Diverse Community Groups And Government Agencies.
