- Collaborate with city officials, community organizations, and other stakeholders to identify and address housing needs and challenges.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Housing Department and ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Monitor and analyze housing data and trends to inform decision-making and make recommendations for improvement.
- Manage a team of housing professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
- Serve as a liaison between the city and local, state, and federal agencies to secure funding and resources for housing initiatives.
- Represent the city at public meetings, hearings, and events to promote housing initiatives and address community concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to housing.
- Continuously evaluate and improve housing programs and services to meet the changing needs of the community.
- Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department and actively work towards eliminating housing disparities.
- Act as a spokesperson for the city's housing initiatives, communicating with media outlets, community groups, and other stakeholders.
- Stay informed about current housing issues and trends, and make recommendations for new policies and programs to address them.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with affordable housing developers, landlords, and other housing providers.
- Collaborate with other city departments to integrate housing initiatives into broader community development strategies.
Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Housing Development, Policy, Or Administration.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To Affordable Housing.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With Experience In Supervising Staff And Managing Budgets.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Stakeholders And Communities.
