  1. Utilize advanced technical knowledge to provide essential support to various city departments in the use of GIS technology.
  2. Create, maintain, and update accurate and detailed maps using GIS software.
  3. Collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data to support city projects and initiatives.
  4. Collaborate with city departments to identify GIS needs and provide solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Conduct quality control checks on GIS data and ensure data integrity.
  6. Train and support city staff in the use of GIS technology and software.
  7. Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices to continually improve GIS processes and procedures.
  8. Develop and maintain GIS databases and related documentation.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to GIS software and applications.
  10. Participate in the development and execution of GIS projects, including data collection and analysis.
  11. Communicate effectively with team members and other city staff to provide timely and accurate GIS support.
  12. Adhere to GIS standards and protocols set by the city.
  13. Contribute to the development and implementation of GIS policies and procedures.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to all data security protocols.
  15. Proactively identify and address potential issues or challenges related to GIS data and processes.
  16. Collaborate with other GIS technicians and professionals to share knowledge and expertise.
  17. Support the city's mission to enhance the livability and sustainability of the community through the use of GIS technology.
  18. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working in the field.
  19. Provide excellent customer service and support to city staff and community members.
  20. Maintain accurate and organized records of GIS projects and data.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Gis, Geography, Computer Science, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Gis Mapping And Analysis, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.

  • Advanced Proficiency In Gis Software, Including Arcgis, Qgis, And/Or Other Relevant Applications.

  • Strong Understanding Of Spatial Data Management And Database Design Principles.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively On Complex Gis Projects, With Strong Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
