
City Procurement Officer

- Oversee all procurement activities for the city, including but not limited to bidding, contracting, and purchasing.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations related to procurement.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote ethical and sustainable purchasing practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of current contracts and identify opportunities for improvement or cost savings.
- Collaborate with various city departments and stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop effective strategies to meet those needs.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential vendors and negotiate contracts.
- Manage and maintain an up-to-date database of vendors and contracts.
- Train and educate city employees on procurement processes and procedures.
- Review and approve all procurement documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies and regulations.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve any issues or disputes that may arise in the procurement process.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in procurement and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and expenditures to city leadership.
- Uphold a culture of transparency and accountability in all procurement activities.
- Represent the city in procurement-related meetings, conferences, and events.
- Ensure timely and efficient processing of all procurement requests.
- Collaborate with the legal department to review and approve contracts.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all procurement activities.
- Manage and supervise a team of procurement staff.
- Handle any other duties and responsibilities related to procurement as assigned by city leadership.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Purchasing Or Procurement, Preferably In A Government Agency.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Procurement Laws, Regulations, And Procedures.
Strong Analytical And Negotiation Skills.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With A Diverse Group Of Stakeholders.
