- Oversee and manage the City of Philadelphia's SQL database infrastructure.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the SQL databases.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database issues to maintain optimal functionality.
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data.
- Develop and implement data migration plans when necessary.
- Conduct regular database maintenance and updates.
- Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure database needs are met.
- Train and mentor junior database administrators.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in database technology.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues and implement new solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for database systems and processes.
- Identify and implement opportunities for database optimization and automation.
- Manage database security and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and standards.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Database Administration, Preferably In A Large Organization Or Government Agency.
Expertise In Microsoft Sql Server, Including Installation, Configuration, Maintenance, And Performance Tuning.
Knowledge Of Data Security And Disaster Recovery Practices, As Well As Experience Implementing And Maintaining These Measures.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage And Mentor A Team Of Database Administrators And Work Collaboratively With Other It Professionals.
