1. Oversee and manage all code enforcement activities within the City of Philadelphia, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
2. Lead and supervise a team of code enforcement officers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality and efficient services.
3. Develop and implement strategies to improve code compliance and promote safety and quality in the built environment.
4. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to address complex and high-priority code enforcement issues.
5. Review and interpret building codes and regulations, and provide guidance and assistance to code enforcement officers and other stakeholders.
6. Conduct regular inspections of buildings and properties to identify and address potential code violations.
7. Work closely with property owners, tenants, and other stakeholders to resolve code violations and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of code enforcement activities, violations, and compliance.
9. Develop and implement training programs for code enforcement officers and other stakeholders to promote understanding and compliance with codes and regulations.
10. Stay updated on new and emerging codes, regulations, and industry best practices to continuously improve code enforcement processes and procedures.
11. Represent the City of Philadelphia in meetings, hearings, and other forums related to code enforcement and building safety.
12. Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to promote education and awareness of building codes and regulations.
13. Develop and monitor budgets for code enforcement activities, ensuring efficient use of resources.
14. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth among code enforcement staff.
