  1. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders to perform various tasks including digging, grading, and moving materials.
  2. Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  3. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  4. Maintain and repair equipment as needed to ensure proper functionality.
  5. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate and complete tasks efficiently.
  6. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to keep it in good working condition.
  7. Adhere to all city regulations and guidelines while operating equipment.
  8. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
  9. Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  10. Continuously develop and improve skills through training and staying up-to-date on industry advancements.
  11. Collaborate with other departments and teams to complete projects and tasks as needed.
  12. Represent the City of Philadelphia in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) With Appropriate Endorsements For Operating Heavy Equipment, Such As Class A Or B With Air Brake Endorsement.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Operating Heavy Equipment In A Construction Or Municipal Setting.

  • Knowledge Of And Ability To Safely Operate Various Types Of Heavy Equipment, Such As Bulldozers, Excavators, Loaders, And Backhoes.

  • Strong Understanding Of Construction Safety Protocols And Ability To Follow All Safety Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, As The Job May Require Working Closely With Other Equipment Operators, Construction Workers, And Supervisors.
