  1. Operate and maintain wastewater collection systems in accordance with city and state regulations.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of sewer lines and manholes to identify and address any potential issues.
  3. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wastewater collection equipment and infrastructure.
  4. Respond to emergency calls, such as sewer blockages or overflows, to ensure prompt resolution and minimize any potential risks to public health.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Wastewater Collection Worker Position At The City Of Los Angeles Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Can Understand And Follow Instructions.

  • Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is Required For This Role As It Involves Driving To Different Wastewater Sites And Operating Specialized Equipment Such As Sewer Trucks And Jet Rodders.

  • Physical Fitness: Wastewater Collection Workers Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Lifting Heavy Objects, Climbing Ladders, And Working In Confined Spaces. A Physical Fitness Test May Be Required As Part Of The Application Process.
