- Assist with research and data collection for planning projects, including gathering information from various sources and compiling it into organized reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess potential development issues and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with senior planners and other team members to develop and implement planning strategies and policies.
- Review and analyze development proposals and provide feedback on their compliance with city regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to planning projects.
- Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials for city officials and stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with city staff, community members, and other stakeholders to gather input and address concerns related to planning projects.
- Stay current on local and state planning laws and regulations, and ensure that all projects adhere to them.
- Attend and participate in meetings, workshops, and public hearings related to planning projects.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure coordination and efficiency in planning efforts.
- Provide administrative support as needed, such as scheduling meetings, organizing files, and maintaining office supplies.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development in the field of urban planning.
- Act as a positive representative of the City of Los Angeles and its planning department in all interactions.
Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Planning And Zoning Laws And Regulations.
Experience With Gis Mapping Software And Other Planning Tools.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret And Apply Data To Inform Planning Decisions.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Stakeholders And Present Complex Information In A Clear And Concise Manner.
