  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all communication and information for the City of Los Angeles.
  2. Respond to inquiries from the public and government officials in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Effectively communicate information about city programs, policies, and services to a diverse audience.
  4. Maintain a thorough understanding of city procedures, policies, and resources to accurately and efficiently respond to inquiries.
  5. Develop and maintain positive relationships with community members, government officials, and other stakeholders.
  6. Ensure the smooth flow of information between city departments and the public.
  7. Keep accurate records of all communications and inquiries received.
  8. Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement communication strategies to promote city initiatives and events.
  9. Stay updated on current events, issues, and trends in the community to better inform and engage the public.
  10. Assist in organizing and coordinating public events, including press conferences and community outreach programs.
  11. Act as a liaison between the city and media outlets, providing accurate and timely information to the press.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities to improve and streamline communication processes within the city.
  13. Uphold the city's values and mission while representing the city in all communications and interactions.
  14. Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies when handling sensitive information.
  15. Collaborate with team members to ensure all communication and information is accurate, consistent, and aligned with the city's messaging.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Public Relations, Media Relations, Or Communications.
