  1. Provide exceptional care for all animal residents under the direction of our veterinarians.
  2. Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of animal illnesses and injuries.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  4. Monitor and record vital signs and overall health status of animals.
  5. Perform laboratory tests and assist in the interpretation of results.
  6. Maintain accurate and organized records of all animal treatments and procedures.
  7. Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures.
  8. Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment.
  9. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all animal areas, equipment, and supplies.
  10. Assist with surgical procedures and post-operative care.
  11. Provide compassionate and gentle care to animals in all situations.
  12. Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure the health and well-being of all animal residents.
  13. Continuously expand knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities.
  14. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  15. Represent the City of Detroit in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Veterinary Technician Program

  • Certification As A Veterinary Technician By The Michigan Board Of Veterinary Medicine
