- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies or issues found in the review process.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations to project teams regarding structural design and construction methods.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of plan reviews and communicate any changes or updates to relevant parties.
- Conduct site visits to inspect and assess the progress and quality of construction projects for compliance with approved plans.
- Stay current on industry standards, building codes, and regulations to ensure the city's structural engineering practices are in line with best practices.
- Participate in meetings and presentations to provide updates and reports on plan reviews and construction progress.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure a coordinated and efficient review and approval process for structural plans.
- Act as a resource and provide guidance to junior engineers and staff members on structural engineering principles and practices.
Professional Engineering (Pe) License In The State Of Michigan.
Bachelor's Degree In Civil Or Structural Engineering From An Accredited University.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Structural Engineering Design And Plan Review.
Extensive Knowledge Of Building Codes And Standards, Including International Building Code (Ibc) And American Society Of Civil Engineers (Asce) Standards.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Accurately Review And Assess Complex Structural Plans.
