- Provide social work services and support to individuals and families in need within the City of Detroit.
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs and strengths of clients and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Collaborate with other city departments and community organizations to coordinate services and resources for clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in emergency situations.
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to services and resources.
- Conduct home visits and outreach to engage with and assess the needs of community members.
- Provide counseling and guidance to clients to promote positive behavior change and self-sufficiency.
- Participate in trainings and workshops to continuously enhance knowledge and skills in the field of social work.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and other service providers, including healthcare facilities, schools, and government agencies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of intervention plans and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions with clients and their families.
- Stay informed of current social and community issues and trends, particularly those affecting the City of Detroit.
- Represent the City of Detroit and its social work services in a professional and positive manner.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients and the community as a whole.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Social Work From An Accredited Institution.
Valid Social Work License From The State Of Michigan.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Social Work Role, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Social Work Ethics And Principles, And Ability To Apply Them In A Diverse And Urban Environment.
Excellent Communication, Problem-Solving, And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Individuals And Groups From Various Backgrounds.
