- Develop and implement policies and strategies to improve the safety and accessibility of the city's streets for all residents.
- Work closely with the Director of Complete Streets to create an overall vision and plan for the city's transportation network.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
- Collaborate with various city departments, community organizations, and stakeholders to gather input and ensure comprehensive and inclusive decision-making.
- Manage and oversee the implementation of transportation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and monitoring progress.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation and regulations related to transportation and complete streets, and make recommendations for compliance and best practices.
- Supervise and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
- Foster strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Lead community engagement efforts to gather feedback and input from residents on transportation projects and initiatives.
- Track and report on the progress and impact of complete streets initiatives, and make adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for complete streets initiatives, promoting the city's vision and goals to various audiences.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation in the city's transportation network, and make recommendations for future projects and initiatives.
- Represent the city in meetings, conferences, and other events related to transportation and complete streets.
- Adhere to all city policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Urban Planning Or Transportation Planning, With A Focus On Complete Streets And Multi-Modal Transportation Systems.
Strong Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Transportation Planning And Complete Streets Implementation.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Partnerships With Various Stakeholders, Including Community Groups, Elected Officials, And Other City Departments.
Demonstrated Experience In Managing And Overseeing Transportation Projects, Including Budgeting, Grant Writing, And Contract Management.
A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Or A Related Field. Professional Certifications, Such As Aicp Or Ptoe, Are Preferred.
