
Contract and Procurement Specialist

- Manage all aspects of the contract and procurement process for the City of Detroit, including drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts with vendors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to contract and procurement processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions for the City.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential vendors and service providers that meet the City's needs and budget.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and prioritize the City's procurement needs.
- Monitor and track contract performance, ensuring that all parties are meeting their obligations and resolving any issues that arise.
- Develop and implement efficient and effective procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve overall efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all contracts and procurement activities.
- Provide guidance and support to City staff on all contract and procurement-related matters.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in contract management and procurement, making recommendations for improvements to current processes and procedures.
- Prepare and present reports on contract and procurement activities to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison between the City and vendors, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the City's contract and procurement processes to ensure they are in line with industry standards and best practices.
- Train and mentor junior staff members in contract and procurement procedures and best practices.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all contract and procurement-related activities.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Or A Related Field.
At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Procurement And Contract Management, Preferably In A Government Or Municipal Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Procurement Regulations And Procedures.
Strong Analytical And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Review And Negotiate Complex Contracts.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Internal And External Stakeholders.
