
Bilingual (Spanish) Senior Public Health Educator HIV/STI

- Develop and implement effective HIV/STI prevention and education programs for the City of Detroit, specifically targeting the Spanish-speaking population.
- Serve as a key resource and expert in public health education, providing guidance and support to other team members as needed.
- Conduct outreach and engage with community organizations and stakeholders to promote public health initiatives and increase awareness of available resources.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, community leaders, and government agencies to identify and address public health needs and concerns within the Spanish-speaking community.
- Create and deliver engaging and culturally sensitive educational materials and presentations in both English and Spanish.
- Collect and analyze data related to public health trends and behaviors in the Spanish-speaking community, and use this information to inform program development and improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in public health education, particularly as it relates to HIV/STI prevention.
- Train and supervise junior public health educators, providing guidance and support to ensure the quality and effectiveness of their work.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies within the city to coordinate and promote public health initiatives and resources.
- Represent the City of Detroit at community events and conferences, advocating for and educating others about public health issues and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including program evaluations and reports, to measure the success and impact of public health education efforts.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in public health education, ensuring the protection of individuals' privacy and confidentiality.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for other public health educators, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
Fluent In Spanish And English: The Bilingual Senior Public Health Educator Must Be Able To Fluently Communicate In Both Spanish And English, As The Job Requires Interacting With Spanish-Speaking Communities And Translating Materials.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Public Health Or Related Field: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Public Health Or A Related Field To Demonstrate Knowledge And Understanding Of Public Health Principles And Practices.
Experience Working With Hiv/Sti Prevention And Education: The Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In Hiv/Sti Prevention And Education, Preferably In A Public Health Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Cultural Competency: The Bilingual Senior Public Health Educator Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Cultural Competency And Be Able To Effectively Communicate And Engage With Diverse Communities.
Experience Working With Community Outreach And Partnerships: The Candidate Should Have Experience In Community Outreach And Building Partnerships To Effectively Reach And Educate The Target Population On Hiv/Sti Prevention And Education.
