Job Description

  1. Provide administrative support to the Board of Police Commissioners, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking accurate meeting minutes.
  2. Maintain and organize official records and documents related to the Board's activities, including resolutions, policies, and procedures.
  3. Coordinate and facilitate communication between the Board, Detroit Police Department, and other city departments.
  4. Manage and maintain the Board's budget and financial records, including processing invoices and expense reports.
  5. Conduct research and gather data to assist the Board in making informed decisions and recommendations.
  6. Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures for the Board and the Detroit Police Department.
  7. Serve as a liaison between the Board and community members, responding to inquiries and addressing concerns.
  8. Provide administrative support to Board members, including coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.
  9. Prepare and distribute reports, memos, and other documents as directed by the Board.
  10. Act as a point of contact for Board meetings, ensuring all necessary materials and resources are available and coordinating with relevant parties.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  12. Collaborate with other administrative staff within the Board and city departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient communication.
  13. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to the Board's responsibilities and make recommendations for improvements or changes as needed.
  14. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Board or Board Chair.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
