
Assistant City Attorney
The City of Burbank seeks an experienced and motivated Assistant City Attorney to join our legal team. We are looking for an individual who can effectively handle a variety of legal matters, including contracts and municipal law, in a timely and professional manner. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a commitment to providing the highest quality of service to our community.The ideal candidate for this role should have a comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as general principles of civil litigation. In addition, the successful applicant should have a minimum of three years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in a public sector setting. An understanding of the City of Burbank's personnel policies and procedures is also advantageous.We are looking for an individual who is a team player, can think creatively to solve complex legal issues, and is committed to achieving the highest ethical standards. The successful candidate should possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively with City departments, as well as other external stakeholders. Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and counsel to the City of Burbank and its various departments in a timely and professional manner.
- Draft and review legal documents, such as contracts, ordinances, and municipal law.
- Monitor local, state, and federal laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Represent the City of Burbank in legal proceedings, such as hearings, trials, and mediations.
- Develop and review policies and procedures related to personnel matters.
- Prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and other written documents.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the City of Burbank's personnel policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with City departments and other external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ethical standards.
