1. Prepare operating rooms and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly.
2. Assist surgical team during procedures by handing instruments and supplies to surgeons and anticipating their needs.
3. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by following proper sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
4. Monitor patient vital signs and assist with positioning and draping during surgical procedures.
5. Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
6. Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, supplies used, and patient care.
7. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families before, during, and after surgical procedures.
8. Continuously educate oneself on new surgical techniques and technology, and implement them into practice as appropriate.
