Sterile Processing Technician

At Cincinnati Children’s, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly detailed Sterile Processing Technician who shares our commitment to providing the highest quality of care to our patients and families. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for ensuring that all instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated and processed for use in surgical procedures, as well as properly sterilizing and packaging all instruments and supplies for subsequent use.We are searching for an individual who has a minimum of one year of experience in the sterilization of medical instruments and/or warewashing in a hospital or healthcare setting, as well as a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be certified in sterile processing, according to the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).This individual should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with a diverse group of people. We are looking for a Sterile Processing Technician who is organized, detail-oriented, and has the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

1. Decontaminate and process instruments and equipment for use in surgical procedures.
2. Sterilize and package instruments and supplies for subsequent use.
3. Maintain records of all instruments and supplies processed.
4. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
5. Inspect and test sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning.
6. Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment and order as needed.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
8. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and work effectively with a diverse group of people.
9. Remain organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
