  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and families to identify their specific needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  2. Provide counseling and support to children and families facing various challenges, such as illness, trauma, or abuse.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans that address social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  4. Advocate for patients and families to ensure they receive necessary resources and services.
  5. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and progress.
  6. Stay up-to-date on current social work practices and evidence-based interventions.
  7. Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and trainings.
  8. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and community resources.
  9. Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  10. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  11. Work collaboratively with community organizations and agencies to connect patients and families with additional support.
  12. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding coping strategies, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and respect for patient privacy at all times.
  14. Continuously evaluate and monitor patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  15. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of social work services.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Social Work From An Accredited University: Candidates For The Lisw Position At Cincinnati Children's Must Have A Master's Degree In Social Work From An Accredited University. This Ensures That They Have Received The Necessary Education And Training To Provide High-Quality Social Work Services.

  • Current Lisw License In The State Of Ohio: In Order To Practice As A Licensed Independent Social Worker (Lisw) In Ohio, Candidates Must Have A Current And Valid License From The Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, And Marriage And Family Therapist Board. This Demonstrates That They Have Met The State's Requirements For Professional Practice.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Social Work Experience: Candidates For The Lisw Position At Cincinnati Children's Must Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Social Worker In A Clinical Setting. This Experience Should Include Working With Children And Families, As Well As Knowledge And Experience In Evidence-Based Practices.

  • Knowledge Of Child Development And Family Systems: As A Pediatric Hospital, Cincinnati Children's Requires Its Social Workers To Have A Strong Understanding Of Child Development And Family Systems. This Includes Knowledge Of Developmental Milestones, Family Dynamics, And The Impact Of Illness Or Disability On Children And Families.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For A Lisw At Cincinnati Children's, As They Will Be Working Closely With Children, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. They Must Be Able To Build Rapport, Listen Actively, And Collaborate With Others To Provide The Best Possible Care For Patients.
