We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Acute Hematology/Oncology unit. As a nurse in this specialized unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and provide expert care to those battling cancer and blood disorders.   1. Provide exceptional care to patients with cancer and blood disorders in the Acute Hematology/Oncology unit.
  2. Utilize clinical expertise and knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  4. Monitor and document patient progress, and make necessary adjustments to care plans as needed.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and emotional support.
  8. Follow all hospital policies and procedures to ensure optimal patient safety and quality of care.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on advancements in oncology nursing.
  10. Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between units and departments.
  12. Adhere to professional standards and ethical principles in all aspects of job performance.
  13. Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Uphold confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and quality of care.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For The Role Of A Registered Nurse In The Acute Hematology/Oncology Unit At Cincinnati Children's. This Degree Provides The Necessary Theoretical Knowledge And Clinical Skills To Provide High-Quality Patient Care.

  • Valid Rn License: A Current And Valid Registered Nurse License In The State Of Ohio Is A Mandatory Requirement For This Job. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Education And Training Requirements To Practice As A Nurse.

  • Prior Experience In Hematology/Oncology: Candidates With Prior Experience In A Hematology/Oncology Setting Will Be Preferred For This Role. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Knowledge And Skills In Caring For Patients With Complex And Often Life-Threatening Conditions.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: The Role Of A Registered Nurse In The Acute Hematology/Oncology Unit Requires Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And The Healthcare Team. Critical Thinking Skills Are Also Crucial For Making Quick And Accurate Decisions In Emergency Situations.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Acute Hematology/Oncology Unit At Cincinnati Children's Is A Fast-Paced Environment With A High Volume Of Patients. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Work Efficiently Under Pressure, Prioritize Tasks, And Handle Multiple Responsibilities Simultaneously.
