  1. Perform surgical procedures on children with congenital heart defects, utilizing advanced techniques and technologies.
  2. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts, including cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
  3. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in pediatric cardiac surgery and incorporate them into clinical practice.
  4. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.
  5. Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-operative care.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to pediatric congenital heart surgery.
  8. Mentor and train residents, fellows, and medical students in pediatric cardiac surgery.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols.
  11. Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
  12. Participate in on-call duties as needed.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve surgical techniques to achieve optimal outcomes for patients.
  14. Attend conferences and workshops to further professional development.
  15. Act as a representative of the hospital and promote its mission and values.

Job Qualifications

  • Board Certification In Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery: Candidates Should Have Completed A Residency In General Surgery And A Fellowship In Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, And Be Board Certified In This Specialty.

  • Extensive Experience In Congenital Heart Surgery: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Experience As A Pediatric Congenital Heart Surgeon, With A Proven Track Record Of Successful Outcomes In Complex Cases.

  • Strong Research Background: Cincinnati Children's Is A Leading Pediatric Research Institution, So Candidates Should Have A Strong Research Background With A Demonstrated Ability To Secure Grant Funding And Publish In Peer-Reviewed Journals.

  • Commitment To Teaching And Mentorship: As A Faculty Member, The Pediatric Congenital Heart Surgeon Will Be Responsible For Teaching And Mentoring Residents, Fellows, And Medical Students. Therefore, A Passion For Education And A Track Record Of Effective Teaching Is Essential.
