Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to critically ill children and their families.   1. Provide compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
  2. Assist with daily patient care activities, such as bathing, feeding, and monitoring vital signs.
  3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide updates and address any concerns.
  5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
  6. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  7. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  8. Demonstrate empathy and sensitivity towards patients and their families during difficult and emotional situations.
  9. Assist with patient transport and transfers as needed.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA regulations.
  11. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues.
  12. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and patient needs.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  14. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  15. Act as a role model for other staff members by displaying professionalism and dedication to pediatric care.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education

  • Completion Of An Accredited Patient Care Assistant Program

  • At Least 1 Year Of Previous Experience In A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (Picu) Setting

  • Current Bls Certification And Other Relevant Certifications (E.g. Cna, Emt)

  • Ability To Handle Stressful And Emotionally Charged Situations With Empathy And Professionalism.
