Job Description

  1. Provide advanced nursing care to pediatric patients with pulmonary conditions.
  2. Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  4. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform procedures within the scope of practice.
  5. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  6. Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.
  8. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  9. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  11. Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  12. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and respect for patients and their families.
  13. Serve as a patient advocate and uphold ethical standards in all interactions.
  14. Collaborate with community resources to facilitate continuity of care for patients.
  15. Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff and students as needed.
  16. Contribute to research studies and projects related to pediatric pulmonary care.
  17. Stay updated on current trends and advancements in pediatric pulmonary care.
  18. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  19. Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager or physician lead.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Nursing: A Nurse Practitioner, Pulmonary At Cincinnati Children's Must Hold A Master's Degree In Nursing, With A Specialization In Pulmonary Care.

  • Current State Licensure: The Candidate Must Have A Valid And Current State License As A Nurse Practitioner, With Prescribing Privileges.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Pulmonary Care: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Nurse Practitioner In A Pulmonary Care Setting, Preferably In A Pediatric Setting.

  • Board Certification In Pulmonary Care: The Nurse Practitioner Must Be Certified By A Recognized Board In Pediatric Pulmonology.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With The Multidisciplinary Team And Interact With Patients And Their Families.
