- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families by warmly welcoming them to the clinic and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care by accurately taking and recording vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers, following all safety protocols and accurately documenting in patient records.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for transport, following all infection control and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in exam rooms and other clinic areas, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and stored.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure smooth coordination of care and timely resolution of any issues or concerns.
- Accurately input and update patient information in electronic medical records, including but not limited to demographics, medical history, and insurance information.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, obtaining authorizations, and verifying insurance coverage to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain and improve skills and knowledge in pediatric healthcare.
- Adhere to all HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and protect their rights.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned by clinic leadership to contribute to the overall success of the clinic and organization.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Medical Assistant I At Cincinnati Children's Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Academic Subjects And Can Handle Basic Clerical And Administrative Tasks.
Certification: Certification From A Reputable Medical Assistant Program Is Preferred For This Position. This Indicates That The Candidate Has Completed A Formal Training Program And Has Acquired The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Perform Medical Assistant Duties Effectively.
