- Conduct research to identify and understand health disparities in the community.
- Develop and implement strategies to address health disparities and promote health equity.
- Collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including community organizations and healthcare providers, to develop and implement initiatives.
- Analyze data and provide recommendations for addressing health disparities and improving health equity.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in the field of health equity.
- Advocate for policies and programs that promote health equity and social justice.
- Develop and deliver presentations and trainings on health equity and health disparities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders and healthcare providers.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and make adjustments as needed.
- Serve as a resource for staff and community members on issues related to health equity and health disparities.
- Participate in health equity committees and work groups.
- Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and community events related to health equity.
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure health equity is incorporated into all aspects of the organization's work.
- Stay informed and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the organization through active participation and collaboration.
Experience In Health Equity Research And Analysis: Candidates Should Have A Strong Background In Conducting Research And Analysis Related To Health Equity Issues, Such As Health Disparities And Social Determinants Of Health.
Knowledge Of Health Equity Policies And Frameworks: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Current Health Equity Policies And Frameworks, Such As The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention's Health Equity Framework And The National Institutes Of Health's Health Disparities Research Framework.
Strong Communication And Presentation Skills: As A Health Equity Consultant, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Communicating Complex Health Equity Concepts And Data To Various Stakeholders, Including Healthcare Providers, Community Organizations, And Policymakers. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Presentation Skills Are Essential.
Experience Working With Diverse Communities: The Job May Require Collaborating With Diverse Communities And Populations, Such As Low-Income, Racial/Ethnic Minorities, Or Lgbtq+ Individuals. Candidates Should Have Experience Working With And Understanding The Unique Needs And Challenges Of These Populations.
Master's Degree In Public Health Or Related Field: A Master's Degree In Public Health, Health Policy, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Health Equity Consultant Position At Cincinnati Children's. A Strong Academic Background In Health Equity And Related Coursework Is Also Highly Desirable.
