- Perform pre-operative evaluations of pediatric cardiac patients to determine appropriate anesthesia plan.
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during cardiac procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with the pediatric cardiology team to develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans for each patient.
- Monitor and manage post-operative care, including pain management and potential complications.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements and best practices in pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding anesthesia and post-operative care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and procedures.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other medical staff, including residents and fellows.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Participate in research and scholarly activities related to pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
- Act as a representative of the hospital and promote its mission and values.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Board Certification: Qualified Candidates For The Position Should Have Board Certification In Anesthesiology, With A Subspecialty Certification In Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
Clinical Experience: A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia Is Required, Preferably In A Academic Medical Center Or Children's Hospital Setting.
Teaching Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Teaching And Mentoring Medical Students, Residents, And Fellows. Experience In Developing And Delivering Didactic Lectures And Participating In Hands-On Training Is Preferred.
Research Experience: Candidates Should Have A Track Record Of Research Productivity In The Field Of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia, With Publications In Peer-Reviewed Journals And Presentations At National Conferences.
Interpersonal And Communication Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Candidate Will Be Expected To Collaborate With Colleagues, Communicate Effectively With Patients And Their Families, And Work As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team.
