Job Description

Cigna is seeking a driven and talented Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting Development to join our dynamic and innovative team. We are looking for an individual who is eager to take on new challenges and is passionate about financial reporting.The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with company policies and external reporting standards. This individual will also be required to address complex accounting matters, review and analyze financial information, and assist in the development of financial reporting procedures and processes.To be successful in this role, the Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting Development must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA designation, and at least four years of experience in accounting and financial reporting. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports in accordance with company policies and external reporting standards.
  2. Address complex accounting matters, review and analyze financial information, and assist in the development of financial reporting procedures and processes.
  3. Evaluate and recommend changes to existing accounting and financial reporting processes.
  4. Provide technical accounting advice to other departments.
  5. Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  6. Monitor and report on performance indicators, highlighting areas of potential improvement or concern.
  7. Develop and present financial reports and analysis to senior management.
  8. Research and interpret new and existing accounting pronouncements and guidance.
  9. Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting documents.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and other stakeholders.
  11. Ensure all financial information is accurately and timely reported in compliance with GAAP.
