Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices and company objectives.
- Lead and manage data governance initiatives across the organization, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and effective data management.
- Define and maintain data ownership roles and responsibilities, ensuring clear accountability for data assets throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with IT teams to identify and resolve data quality issues, and establish processes for ongoing data quality monitoring and improvement.
- Conduct regular audits to assess data governance maturity and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to business and technical teams on data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Stay current with industry trends and developments in data governance, and proactively make recommendations for enhancements to the company's data governance program.
- Develop and deliver training programs to increase awareness and understanding of data governance principles and practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for data governance, promoting a culture of data ownership and accountability throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure data governance practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on data governance initiatives, progress, and results to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to streamline and optimize data governance processes and procedures.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and events, sharing insights and best practices in data governance.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure alignment and adherence to data governance standards and policies.
Extensive Experience In Data Governance: A Data Governance & Ownership Senior Manager At Cigna Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In Leading Data Governance Initiatives, Implementing Data Governance Policies And Procedures, And Managing Data Quality And Integrity.
Strong Understanding Of Data Management Principles: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Data Management Principles, Including Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Architecture, And Data Security. They Should Also Have Experience With Data Governance Frameworks Such As Dama-Dmbok Or Togaf.
Leadership And Team Management Skills: As A Senior Manager, This Role Requires Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team. The Candidate Should Have Experience In Leading And Developing A Team Of Data Professionals, As Well As Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams.
