  1. Develop and implement effective utilization management strategies in order to maximize the efficient use of medical resources and maintain quality of care for Cigna members.
  2. Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Utilization Management team in order to achieve operational and financial goals.
  3. Collaborate with other leaders and stakeholders within Cigna to ensure alignment and integration of Utilization Management initiatives with overall business objectives.
  4. Monitor and analyze utilization trends and data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with key external partners, such as providers and healthcare organizations, to support effective utilization management.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to utilization management and healthcare delivery.
  7. Guide and mentor team members, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their professional development goals.
  8. Work closely with the Cigna Medical Director team to ensure clinical guidelines and protocols are evidence-based and regularly reviewed and updated.
  9. Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to support innovation and continuous improvement in the utilization management process.
  10. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the Utilization Management team.
  11. Represent Cigna as a thought leader and subject matter expert in utilization management at conferences, industry events, and with external stakeholders.
  12. Oversee and manage the budget and resources for the Utilization Management team.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate policies related to utilization management.
  14. Act as a liaison between the Utilization Management team and other departments within Cigna, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and workflows to drive efficiency and effectiveness in utilization management.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree (Md Or Do) From An Accredited Institution

  • Active And Unrestricted Medical License In The State Where The Position Is Located

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Clinical Practice, Preferably In A Primary Care Or Specialty Setting

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Utilization Management Processes And Procedures, Including Prior Authorization And Claims Review

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team, As Well As The Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And External Partners.
