- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the hospital's facilities and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Monitor and maintain proper temperature, humidity, and air quality levels throughout the hospital.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify and address any potential issues.
- Respond to emergency situations and troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and building codes, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate maintenance and repairs.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and new team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry practices and technologies.
- Collaborate with external contractors and vendors when necessary.
- Assist with the implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed.
- Uphold the hospital's mission and values in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the Plant Operations team to develop and implement preventative maintenance plans.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to the Plant Operations Manager in a timely manner.
- Attend trainings and meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Plant Operations Manager.
Proficient Knowledge Of Mechanical Systems: A Stationary Engineer At Choc Children's Hospital Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of All Mechanical Systems Including Hvac, Plumbing, And Electrical Systems. They Should Be Able To Troubleshoot And Repair These Systems Efficiently To Ensure Safe And Uninterrupted Operations.
Experience With Plant Operations: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience In Operating And Maintaining A Complex Plant Or Facility. This Includes Knowledge Of Boilers, Chillers, Generators, And Other Critical Equipment Used In A Hospital Setting.
Understanding Of Safety Regulations: As A Stationary Engineer, It Is Crucial To Have A Thorough Knowledge Of All Safety Regulations And Protocols Related To Plant Operations. This Includes Fire Safety, Emergency Procedures, And Hazardous Materials Handling.
Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Manuals: The Job Requires The Ability To Read And Understand Technical Manuals, Diagrams, And Blueprints. This Is Necessary For Troubleshooting, Repairs, And Installations Of Various Equipment.
Strong Communication Skills: Stationary Engineers At Choc Children's Hospital Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Other Team Members And Hospital Staff.
