Welcome to CHOC Children's Hospital, where we provide exceptional care to our youngest patients. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Polysomnography Technician to join our Sleep Lab team. In this role, you will work closely with pediatric patients and their families to perform diagnostic sleep studies and assist in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.   1. Conduct diagnostic sleep studies on pediatric patients to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
  2. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  3. Educate patients and their families on sleep disorders, treatment options, and sleep hygiene practices.
  4. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all sleep study results and patient information.
  5. Maintain and operate polysomnography equipment, including troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance.
  6. Create a comfortable and safe environment for pediatric patients during sleep studies.
  7. Monitor patients' vital signs and responses during sleep studies, and report any abnormalities to the medical team.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and procedures.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on advancements in pediatric sleep medicine.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
  11. Provide excellent customer service to patients and families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  12. Collaborate with the team to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  13. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  15. Continuously strive to provide the highest quality of care to pediatric patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of A Polysomnography Technician Training Program Or Degree In A Related Field, Such As Respiratory Therapy Or Nursing.

  • Current Certification As A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Or Eligibility To Obtain Certification Within 6 Months Of Hire.

  • Experience Working In A Sleep Lab Or Similar Clinical Setting, Preferably With Pediatric Patients.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team.

  • Understanding Of Sleep Disorders, Diagnostic Procedures, And Equipment Used In Polysomnography, As Well As Proficiency In Data Analysis And Interpretation.
