Job Description

  1. Provide urgent response and critical care nursing services to pediatric patients at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
  2. Collaborate with other members of the critical care team to provide comprehensive and effective patient care.
  3. Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs, and respond quickly to any changes or emergencies.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
  6. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and at-home care instructions.
  7. Communicate effectively with physicians, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient care.
  8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to maintain a safe and ethical work environment.
  9. Continuously evaluate and improve nursing practices to provide the highest quality of care.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices and advancements in pediatric critical care.
  11. Maintain a compassionate and empathetic approach towards patients and their families during times of stress and uncertainty.
  12. Display strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make quick and accurate decisions in emergency situations.
  13. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based protocols and procedures.
  14. Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced nurses and assist with their professional development.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) And/Or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (Enpc)

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field

  • Active Rn License In The State Of Pennsylvania

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Pediatric Or Emergency Setting

  • Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Remain Calm And Make Quick Decisions In High-Pressure Situations.
