
Specialist of Poison Information- Nurse
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is looking for an experienced, passionate, and knowledgeable Nurse Specialist of Poison Information to join our team. We are a world-renowned hospital dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare for children and their families. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on the management of poison and drug exposure in both pediatric and adult patients.We are seeking an individual with a minimum of five years of experience in a nursing role, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Additionally, you must be trained in poison control and emergency department management, and have working knowledge of the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) and Clinical Toxicology. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and physicians. Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on the management of poison and drug exposure in both pediatric and adult patients.
- Ensure compliance with the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) and Clinical Toxicology standards.
- Monitor and document poison and drug exposure incidents in patients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for poison and drug exposures.
- Educate patients and families on the prevention of poison and drug exposure.
- Work with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel to ensure quality care is provided to patients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest advances in poison and drug exposure treatments.
- Respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to patients.
- Participate in research projects related to poison and drug exposure.
