Job Description

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team and provide essential care to our pediatric patients and their families. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our youngest patients and their families, providing them with the support and guidance they need to navigate their unique medical journeys.To be successful in this role, you must have an undergraduate or master’s degree in social work, a valid Social Work license in Pennsylvania, and at least one year of experience in a pediatric medical setting. Additionally, you should have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide social work services to patients and families in a pediatric medical setting.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate services with other medical staff.
  3. Assist patients and families in navigating the medical system and accessing available resources.
  4. Develop relationships with patients and families to ensure trust and understanding.
  5. Educate and inform patients and families on the effects of medical treatments and conditions.
  6. Facilitate support groups for patients and families.
  7. Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient care.
  8. Ensure compliance with professional standards and ethical guidelines.
  9. Monitor and assess patient progress and outcomes.
  10. Remain up-to-date on advances in social work and pediatric medical care.
