Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist position at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and compassionate professional to join our team of dedicated healthcare providers. We are looking for a candidate who possess the qualifications and attitude necessary to provide excellent care and support to our patients and their families. The ideal individual for this role is highly motivated, has excellent communication skills, and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children.The successful candidate must possess at least an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy and have a current state license to practice Respiratory Therapy. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have at least two years of experience working as a Respiratory Therapist in a pediatric healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of pediatric respiratory care procedures, including the use of ventilators, is essential in this role. Furthermore, the candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare providers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide excellent care and support to pediatric patients and their families.
  2. Possess an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy and have a current state license to practice Respiratory Therapy.
  3. Have at least two years of experience working as a Respiratory Therapist in a pediatric healthcare setting.
  4. Possess strong knowledge of pediatric respiratory care procedures, including the use of ventilators.
  5. Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare providers.
  6. Monitor and adjust patient's respiratory treatments as needed.
  7. Assess patient's condition and progress, and document results in patient's medical record.
  8. Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and preventive care.
  9. Maintain and update respiratory equipment and supplies.
  10. Follow safety protocols and guidelines.
