Job Description

At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), we are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Research Technician with expertise in Pathology and Lab Medicine to join our team. This individual will have the opportunity to work with a world-class team of healthcare professionals and scientists to advance our mission of providing high-quality, lifesaving care to children and families.The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various laboratory tasks, including sample preparation, data collection, and analysis of results. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate with researchers and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.The ideal candidate for this role will possess a Bachelor's degree in Pathology, Lab Medicine, or a related field, and have at least two years of research experience in a laboratory setting. In addition, the successful applicant will have a strong working knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols. Above all, we are seeking a passionate individual with a commitment to providing the highest quality of care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform sample preparation, data collection, and analysis of results in accordance with laboratory protocols.
  2. Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
  3. Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities and results.
  4. Collaborate with researchers and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  5. Adhere to safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and equipment.
  6. Ensure all laboratory procedures are performed in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  7. Provide support and advice to research teams and healthcare providers.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with laboratory equipment and processes.
  9. Prepare reports and presentations on laboratory findings.
  10. Participate in continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on latest laboratory techniques.
