- Conduct and oversee clinical research studies focused on mitochondrial myopathy, including designing protocols, recruiting patients, and collecting and analyzing data.
- Collaborate with other researchers and healthcare professionals to develop and implement innovative research projects and techniques.
- Stay up-to-date on current literature and advancements in the field of mitochondrial myopathy, and apply this knowledge to research projects.
- Identify and apply for grants and funding opportunities to support research projects.
- Communicate research findings through presentations, publications, and conferences, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
- Ensure compliance with all ethical and regulatory standards related to research, including obtaining necessary approvals and maintaining accurate records.
- Mentor and train junior researchers and provide guidance and support to research assistants and volunteers.
- Work closely with patients and their families to explain research studies and obtain informed consent, and maintain positive relationships with study participants.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, including physicians and nurses, to ensure smooth coordination and execution of research studies.
- Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Continuously evaluate and improve research methods and procedures to ensure the highest quality of data and results.
- Represent the hospital and its research efforts to external stakeholders, including community organizations, funding agencies, and media outlets.
- Participate in departmental and hospital-wide meetings and committees to contribute to the overall research strategy and mission of the hospital.
A Phd In Genetics, Biochemistry, Or A Related Field With A Strong Background In Mitochondrial Research.
Previous Experience Conducting Clinical Research, Preferably In The Field Of Mitochondrial Myopathy.
Extensive Knowledge Of Genetic And Biochemical Techniques, As Well As Proficiency In Data Analysis And Interpretation.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Researchers And Clinicians.
A Demonstrated Track Record Of Publishing In Peer-Reviewed Journals And Presenting At Scientific Conferences.
