Welcome to the Division of Neurology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia! We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Lab Specialist to join our team. Our research lab is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of neurological disorders in children. As a Research Lab Specialist, you will play a crucial role in conducting and managing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to research publications. We are looking for someone with a strong background in neuroscience and experience in a laboratory setting.   1. Conduct and manage experiments: The Research Lab Specialist will be responsible for planning, conducting, and managing experiments in the lab, including following established protocols and procedures.
  2. Analyze data: The Specialist will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from experiments, using statistical methods and software as needed.
  3. Contribute to research publications: The Specialist will play a critical role in contributing to research publications by helping to analyze data, prepare figures and tables, and write sections of manuscripts.
  4. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies: The Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and organizing laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition and stocked for experiments.
  5. Collaborate with team members: The Specialist will work closely with other members of the research team, including scientists, technicians, and graduate students, to plan and execute experiments and share results.
  6. Stay up-to-date with literature: The Specialist will be expected to stay current with relevant research literature and provide insights and ideas for new experiments based on this knowledge.
  7. Assist with grant preparation: The Specialist may be asked to assist in the preparation of grant proposals, including writing sections related to experimental methods and results.
  8. Maintain accurate records: The Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed records of experiments, results, and data analysis.
  9. Adhere to safety protocols: The Specialist will be responsible for following all laboratory safety protocols and ensuring that all team members do the same.
  10. Attend and present at conferences: The Specialist may be expected to attend and present at scientific conferences to share research findings and represent the lab.
  11. Train and supervise junior lab members: The Specialist may be responsible for training and supervising junior lab members, such as graduate students and interns.
  12. Contribute to lab meetings: The Specialist will be expected to participate in regular lab meetings and present updates on their research progress.
  13. Maintain confidentiality: The Specialist will be responsible for maintaining confidentiality of research data and results as required

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field, Such As Biology, Neuroscience, Or Chemistry.

  • Previous Experience Working In A Research Lab Setting, Preferably In The Field Of Neurology.

  • Strong Understanding Of Research Methodology And Data Analysis Techniques.

  • Excellent Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail.

  • Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively With Other Team Members.
