
Registered Nurse, NICU

- Provide compassionate and skilled care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Monitor and assess the condition of newborns in the NICU, including vital signs and response to treatment.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate parents and family members on the care and needs of their infant in the NICU.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, providing emotional support and guidance during a challenging time.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements and research in neonatal care, including attending continuing education courses.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse Position At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia, As It Provides A Comprehensive Understanding Of Nursing Principles And Practices.
Registered Nurse (Rn) Licensure: Candidates Must Possess A Current, Active Rn License In The State Of Pennsylvania. This Demonstrates That The Nurse Has Passed The Necessary Exams And Met The State's Requirements For Practicing Nursing.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Experience: Previous Experience Working In A Nicu Setting Is Highly Preferred For This Role. This Experience Should Include Caring For Critically Ill Newborns, Administering Medications, And Monitoring Vital Signs.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: All Registered Nurses At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia Must Hold Current Bls Certification. This Certification Shows That The Nurse Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques, Such As Cpr And Aed Use.
Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In A Nicu Setting, As Nurses Must Work Closely With Both Patients And Their Families, As Well As Other Healthcare Professionals. Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Crucial For Success In This Role.
