Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). A successful candidate for this position will be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for delivering quality care to pediatric patients. Our ideal candidate will have an exceptional ability to remain calm and collected when faced with challenging situations and will have the necessary skills to effectively manage the care of their patients. The Registered Nurse will be a part of a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing high-quality, family-centered care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university• RN license in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing• At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric emergency or critical care setting• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals

Responsibilities:

  1. Assess the needs of pediatric patients in the Emergency Department and develop individualized care plans.
  2. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
  3. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
  4. Remain up-to-date on the latest medical advances and treatments.
  5. Communicate with patients and their families to ensure their understanding of treatments and care plans.
  6. Provide support to other healthcare professionals in the Emergency Department.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  8. Maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients.
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.
  10. Foster a positive and supportive team environment.
