  1. Conduct pulmonary function tests on pediatric patients according to established protocols and procedures.

  4. Maintain accurate and organized records of patient test results and communicate findings to medical team.
  5. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for respiratory conditions.
  6. Educate patients and their families on pulmonary function testing procedures and provide support and guidance throughout the testing process.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and sterile testing environment.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and techniques in pulmonary function testing.
  9. Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  10. Foster a positive and compassionate environment for pediatric patients and their families.
  11. Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  12. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Care Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Care, Pulmonary Physiology, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Pulmonary Function Technologist Position At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Respiratory Care And Pulmonary Function Testing.

  • Certification As A Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (Rpft): A Pulmonary Function Technologist At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia Must Possess A Current Rpft Certification From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Knowledge In Pulmonary Function Testing.

  • Experience In Pediatric Respiratory Care: Experience In Pediatric Respiratory Care Is Highly Desirable For A Pulmonary Function Technologist Position At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Working With Pediatric Patients.

  • Proficiency In Pulmonary Function Testing Equipment And Software: The Ability To Perform And Interpret A Variety Of Pulmonary Function Tests, As Well As Proficiency In Using Specialized Equipment And Software, Is A Key Qualification For A Pulmonary Function Technologist At Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia.
