Job Description

As a Psychiatrist in our Emergency and Crisis Services department, you will play a critical role in providing mental health support to children and adolescents in acute psychiatric distress. We are seeking a highly qualified candidate who is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children and their families.   1. Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment to children and adolescents in acute psychiatric distress.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  3. Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies as needed.
  4. Conduct crisis interventions and de-escalation techniques as necessary.
  5. Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  7. Stay up-to-date on best practices and evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents in psychiatric crisis.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all patient interactions.
  9. Attend meetings and trainings to support professional growth and development.
  10. Serve as a resource and consultant for other healthcare professionals, providing education and guidance on mental health issues.
  11. Advocate for patient needs and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to safety and infection control.
  13. Provide compassionate and culturally sensitive care to all patients and families.
  14. Continuously assess and improve the quality of care provided in the Emergency and Crisis Services department.
  15. Act as a positive role model and promote a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Board Certification: Candidates Should Be Board Certified In Psychiatry By The American Board Of Psychiatry And Neurology.

  • Experience In Emergency And Crisis Services: A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Providing Psychiatric Care In An Emergency Or Crisis Setting Is Preferred.

  • Pediatric Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Children And Adolescents In A Psychiatric Setting.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Psychiatrist Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Families, And A Multidisciplinary Team.

  • Ability To Handle High-Stress Situations: The Ability To Remain Calm And Make Quick Decisions In High-Stress Situations Is Crucial For A Psychiatrist In Emergency And Crisis Services. Previous Experience In Handling Emergencies Is Preferred.
