
Perinatal Social Worker

- Provide emotional support and guidance to families during the perinatal period.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs of families and develop effective care plans.
- Work closely with medical professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Collaborate with community resources to provide families with support and access to necessary services.
- Facilitate support groups and educational workshops for families on topics related to perinatal care.
- Utilize strong communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competence in working with diverse families and backgrounds.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient interactions and progress.
- Serve as an advocate for families and assist in navigating the healthcare system.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all interactions with patients and families.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in perinatal care.
- Collaborate with other social workers and healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of perinatal patients and their families.
- Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and families.
Master's Degree In Social Work With A Focus On Perinatal Health And/Or Child And Family Welfare.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Social Worker In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In A Perinatal Or Neonatal Unit.
Knowledge Of And Experience With Evidence-Based Practices In Perinatal Health, Including Maternal Mental Health, Infant Development, And Family-Centered Care.
Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Faced By Families During The Perinatal Period, Including High-Risk Pregnancies, Nicu Stays, And Postpartum Depression.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Support And Education To Patients And Their Families.
