Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Perinatal Social Worker to join our team. As a Perinatal Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting families during one of the most important and vulnerable times in their lives. We are looking for someone with strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of perinatal care.   1. Provide emotional support and guidance to families during the perinatal period.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs of families and develop effective care plans.
  3. Work closely with medical professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  4. Collaborate with community resources to provide families with support and access to necessary services.
  5. Facilitate support groups and educational workshops for families on topics related to perinatal care.
  6. Utilize strong communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members.
  7. Demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competence in working with diverse families and backgrounds.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient interactions and progress.
  9. Serve as an advocate for families and assist in navigating the healthcare system.
  10. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all interactions with patients and families.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in perinatal care.
  12. Collaborate with other social workers and healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to patient care.
  13. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  14. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of perinatal patients and their families.
  15. Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and families.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Social Work With A Focus On Perinatal Health And/Or Child And Family Welfare.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Social Worker In A Hospital Setting, Preferably In A Perinatal Or Neonatal Unit.

  • Knowledge Of And Experience With Evidence-Based Practices In Perinatal Health, Including Maternal Mental Health, Infant Development, And Family-Centered Care.

  • Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Faced By Families During The Perinatal Period, Including High-Risk Pregnancies, Nicu Stays, And Postpartum Depression.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team And Provide Support And Education To Patients And Their Families.
